NEW YORK - Negril Village in Lower Manhattan is set to come alive on June 4th as 'Jamaica's Greatest, The World's Best' reggae festival - Reggae Sumfest - rolls into the Big Apple for the annual New York kickoff. Media practitioners are invited to join sponsors and Summerfest Productions officials in marking the 16th year anniversary of the festival at a private event at Negril Village restaurant from 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday.This year's Sumfest gets underway in Montego Bay, Jamaica from July 13-19, 2008, kicking off with a Beach Party on Sunday July 13th, featuring Classique and Danger Zone Records.
Executive Director of Summerfest Productions, Johnny Gourzong is especially thrilled at this year's line-up that includes some of the hottest dancehall acts on the reggae scene, including Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Voice Mail, Macka Diamond, Vybz Kartel, Harry Toddler, Busy Signal, Wayne Marshall, Elephant Man, Anthony B, Richie Spice, Queen Ifrica, Jah Cure, Tarus Riley and Etana.
