Gangsters Out and About

With the so called influx in crime, there is always a reasonable explanation behind it. I've noticed that a large number of gangsters ( aka Drug /Bad men) are back in town. All those who were nabbed a few years back are all prancing around making public appearances. I feel they watch one two many episodes of Scare Face. Y'all realize no website ain't got the guts to take their picture and publish it on their site. ( giggles) Don't worry I promise I will deliver."The Bad Men don't miss a swing for nothing, I am starting to wonder if the places they making these appearances, serves as their place of employment." Who knows, but we all know they not pushing a 9-5 job like the rest of us.

Pimple Popping

Pimple popping, Rhianna got caught " Bussing" Chris Brown's pimples. Lawd knows he has alot to pop, the little boy just now start going through puberty. lol I got to admit I too am addicted to a good squeeze now and then. I can't help it, it is addictive. Once you Pop you can't stop.

Drinking, Drunk or Sober

Two young men sadly lost their lives, due to the drinking and driving epidemic. Satesh Singh and Wajeed Sawh died a slow and painful death, after the car Singh was driving, crashed into a culvert at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara. Witnesses reported seeing the driver and the passenger drinking heavily (Black Label rum) at a wedding before they proceeded home. I have to wonder if the road carnage will ever end, saving the lives of our young and progressive youths. In the short time, I have lived on earth I have experienced too many of my peers dying, due to drinking and driving. I guess the traffic lights and radar guns are not working at all….what can the government say, other than “we tried”.

True or False - There are 13,000 Guyanese living with the virus?

Why they lying , based on all that I've read on the AIDS epidemic in Guyana, I could safely conclude that this figure is utterly false. Personally, I think the 2003 statistics which stated 1 in every 14 Guyanese is living with HIV is more accurate and realistic. Bearing in mind, many HIV cases are unreported and people die of HIV related illnesses, which go virtually undocumented. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Health should be commended for boosting the Prevention of the Mother-to Child Transmission Programme (PMTCT) which has decreased the number of mothers transmitting the HIV virus to their infants. In addition, Guyana should be mindful that in the Caribbean, high levels of poverty, unemployment, gender and other inequalities help to fuel the spread of the Virus. Issuing Antiretroviral drugs to pregnant women, who are otherwise unable to obtain them, helps in reducing the transmission of the virus. Anyways let me go straight to the punch, the article seems to be construing information, they claim that Guyana has 13,000 cases, I hope they meant to indicate they were referring to infants alone. Because we all know Guyana got a whopping AIDS rate don't play with numbers, to make it seem as though we ain't got a epidemic in the making. And the scary thing about it is, a lot of people who are infected don't know it, they have multiple partners ,they swing both sides (male and female) and some just Damn malicious and want to punish all those who don't have the virus. A sick world in deed, protect yah self!!! Trust when I say, "I know people who actually cover all those categories listed, I just keeping it real."

Action at Bounty Killer's property.

The body of a dead man, with gunshot wounds, was found the 'Grung God's' house, in the Norbrook community, St. Andrew. The family of Bounty Killer is still shocked and trying to come to terms with the finding. Police report states that the body of Davian Williams, age 32, was discovered shortly after 11:00 am. The deceased was the owner of Davion Motors which was closed down recently.
The body was found, in the passage way with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body, the police states. Inspectors suspect that the man might have been gunned down on the property. The 'Warlord', who owns the property, is not a suspect in the killing, as he doesn't live there. Suspicions are focussed on the man's car dealership business, as it was reported that the man had a history of collecting money from customers and failing to deliver. Bad man nah lef machine too far.. lol

Emancipate yah Self.....

Emancipation day came and went like every other holiday in GT. Another good excuse to party, drink and stay at home from work, "you won't hear me complaining though." I love a holiday , the Caribbean blood is a bad thing, laziness is a predominant trait. Now how in the world this young lady go and over do the do. Apparently she try too hard to emancipate her self. Poor child in hospital with spinal injuries. Not me i too old to be doing all those dutty wine and dancehall competition moves." Looking at them alone, while they displaying all the latest and greatest lawless moves, does give me pains." Good luck I wish her well, hope she recovers fully.

Things getting tuff.....

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud claims "That Guyana's murder rate significantly higher than last year's. There have been 109 homicides, including three massacres and one beheading. " Not surprising, any shift in financial or socioeconomic stature of a country proportionately affects the behavior of its citizens. With the advent of our gracious VAT and TIN, increased food and gas prices, people are bound to go crazy up in here. I don't blame them, things getting hard and the government turning a blind ear/eye. It doesn't take a scientist to realize rise in crime is directly correlated to the hardship in Guyana. Presi have you ever heard about "The Cause and Effect Law/Causality Law"read it up. Crime rates not going down anytime soon, if people have to wonder how they will feed their families. Guyana is to blame for the high crime rates and no one else, society plays a major role in molding youths, if the government gives them no other option, it is only natural they will seek other avenues to attain respect, by using the only thing they know, violence. Survival of the fittest and that is how it will continue to be.

Adam Harris likes being chased by cops !! Olympic Glory

The Guyana Olympic Association put itself in a bit of a sticky situation. For the record, Adam Harris, (click here to see his my space page) an" United States competitor of Guyanese origin, was included on the team to replace previous wild card entrant Cleveland Forde, the local born and bred long-distance track and field specialist. Harris made the Guyana team with a ‘B’ qualifying standard, doing so by the narrowest of margins. In other words, his credentials suggest he will only be in Beijing to make numbers in one of the marquee athletics events. And he is not the first such competitor who has come in from overseas and used their connections to attend the world’s greatest sports event on Guyana’s behalf. In the 1996 and 2000, Atlanta and Sydney Games, a number of overseas competitors enjoyed the luxury Harris is about to enjoy and were never heard from again.

In Harris’ s case, he didn’t even have to show up. For starters, he has never set foot in Guyana and surely doesn’t know the difference between the National Park and the National Cricket Stadium. This is a grave injustice to local athletes who endure the tortures of staying in the sport, having little reward to expect while dealing with an odious national athletics governing body, enduring medieval type facilities and the dire economic hardships amateur sports competitors face in Guyana. This is not a campaign against athletes who live overseas and want to represent Guyana, rather it is an urging for better management of Guyana’s sport, in this case, the Olympic disciplines." This is a snippet of Adam's My Space page profile " What up i'm Adam Harris. I like to Breakdance, do Flips and i like to do a lot of illegal things that involve getting chased by the cops. I hang out with a bunch of street racers, dancers, and athletes. this is bout to be my 8th year of track and i'm a sophmore at the University of Michigan." May be this is why, the GOA decided to pick Adam , they realize he is use to running away from police, on a regular.

"Any athlete who wants to represent Guyana should be welcome, but their selection must be justified, instead of being farcical. f we are going to make up numbers at the Olympics track and field events we should so do with the locals – the ones like Rawle Greene and others who have competed tirelessly for many years despite unrelenting hostile circumstances. Green does not have the Olympics qualifying 200m `B’ standard which happens to be identical to Harris’ best time or the ‘A’ requirement. Neither do any of the active local competitors.

But they deserve some reward for their blood, sweat and tears.
Forde, a three-time Junior Carifta Games gold medalist, has not shown progress despite given exposure in the past, including specialized training in Kenya and at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships, and should not feel aggrieved at having his wild card entrée removed with Harris’ s selection.

But it should not have been caused by a foreigner without the necessary credentials, who has never raced on the grass tracks at home or at smaller competitions like the CAC Games, Pan American Games or Commonwealth Games. Over the years, Guyana has been represented at major world competitions primarily by Aliann Pompey and Marian Burnett, both based overseas. But their selections have been justified. They represented Guyana from the bottom coming up and won medals at the Commonwealth and Pan American Games and had to attain `A’ standard qualifying times for the Athens and Beijing Games."

London Bridge has Broken Down

I was utterly dismayed when I read the story of the New Providence Bridge which collapsed with a TPL truck carrying a cement mixer on Tuesday. One man lost his life leaving behind a 9 year old daughter just because Guyana is one third world country that still has dilapidated wooden bridges to access main areas. Further reading the publication in Staborek News, one can observe Minister Benn and the residence of the area playing “the blame game” as to who is responsible for the rehabilitation and up keep of the bridge. This is so typical of catastrophes in Guyana, Government Officials always find themselves putting the blame & responsibilities on someone else. Sad and Shameful.

Gay Madness & Heterosexual Pride

A Straight Pride Parade will roll out on August 31, 2008 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, just one day ahead of the annual Caribbean Labor Day Parade.
In a press release sent out recently by members of the reggae community, who have organized this event as a response to gay groups coming down hard on some dancehall music; the parade was justified as being, "...a chance for Heterosexuals to gather together and proudly embrace their sexuality. The Parade will also allow reggae and dancehall fans who are in New York City for the Labor Day celebrations to get together and celebrate reggae, dancehall and family in love and unity. Adults are encouraged to bring their children along for the celebrations, as the event will be family oriented."
Not only have gay groups launched massive global advocacies against what they call reggae's long history of gay intolerance, they have also been successful in hitting artists hard, in the pocket, by pushing for show cancellations. Their aim is reportedly to stop reggae and dancehall artists from promoting anti-gay violence, harassment and bigotry through lyrics. The release said further: "Gay friends and gay relatives must be left at home or worse kept in the closet." I just keeping y'all informed as to what is going on in the Reggae community. We should have known that those lyrics like " bun chi chi man , dead" not gonna fly in the US with all those gay folk running around. I still don't understand why caribbean people have such a low tolerance for gays, it baffles me because we all know, GT is filled with them anyways , might as well accept it. I prefer to let them come out so I know who is who. (lol) Because I know of MANY men walking around GT with wives and whole ass load of pickney and they still running after MAN. I just keeping it real.

US Top Ten Freaky Sex Laws

If Guyana thinks enforcing some sex laws is daunting; they would have a heck of a time dealing with the following.
1. Oral sex is illegal in 18 states, including Arizona.
2. In Virginia, it is illegal to have sex with the lights on.
3. It is illegal for husbands in Willowdale, Oregon, to talk dirty during intercourse.
4. Sexual intercourse between unmarried couples is illegal in Georgia.
5. Engaging in any sexual position other than missionary is illegal inWashington DC.
6. In Connorsville, Wisconsin, it is illegal for a man to shoot off a gun when his female partner is having an orgasm.
7. In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, it is illegal to have sex with a truckdriver inside a toll booth.
8. Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal in Florida. (and dangerous at that)
9. It is illegal in Utah to marry your first cousin before the age of65.
10.Sex with animals is perfectly legal for men in Washington state, as long as the animal weighs less than 40 pounds.

Vodoo and Rhianna

I know i am late with this but there are stories circulating recently that Chris Brown's mother feels Rihanna used Vodoo on her son. We need to do some thorough investigation to find out if voodoo is a common practice in Barbados, fah real. Probably that is why most of the population got tie tongue and are homosexuals, vodoo at its best. According to Chris' mother the relationship is moving way too quickly, so she feels that Rihanna must have done something to make her son fall so deeply for her. Well, if Rihanna has strong Caribbean blood running through her veins "she know weh fi do fi hold har man, She nuh need nuh voodooo fi do dat".

Banning Death Announcements..!

According to the popular blog, Living Guyana, they received a scoop from a source at "Government Information Agency indicating that the President Bharrat Jagdeo will ban death announcements from radio and television in Guyana with effect from August 1st 2008. This ban comes into effect because President Jagdeo is concerned that death announcements are too negative and make people unhappy therefore he is removing those from the airwaves." (Giggles) He probably realized that no where else in the world, do people publish or broadcast the names and pictures of the dead. I always found it amusing myself, however I have to admit my grandmother loved looking at Death Announcements, ritualistically she would put on the TV and look for old classmates and friends she hadn't seen in years. It seems as though attending funerals, became her past time which entailed bringing out her finest frock and classiest hats. I guess when you get older, anything is a worthy occasion to get dressed up for. So what will all the convalescent people do now, how will they know the schedule of events or whether or not a " soul funeral" is on, during the week. Presi trying to jack up, the entire social life of our OLD people or what? A word of advice, it is not nice to piss off old people, by turning off their favorite daytime / night time entertainment, you don't know what grumpy old people are capable of, we already have enough crazy people on the streets.

Fishy Pedicures...

Seems as though "Fish pedicures" are creating headlines in the D.C. area, where a northern Virginia spa has been offering them for the past four months. John Ho, who runs the Yvonne Hair and Nails salon with his wife, Yvonne Le, said 5,000 people have taken the plunge so far. He said he wanted to come up with something unique while finding a replacement for pedicures that use razors to scrape off dead skin. The razors have fallen out of favor with state regulators because of concerns about whether they're sanitary. Ho was skeptical at first about the fish, which are called Garra Rufa but typically known as doctor fish. They were first used in Turkey and have become popular in some Asian countries. The fish don't do the job alone. After 15 to 30 minutes in the tank, customers get a standard pedicure, made easier by the soft skin the doctor fish leave behind. Ho believes his is the only salon in the country to offer the treatment, which costs $35 for 15 minutes and $50 for 30 minutes. Lawd, next thing you will see all these Guyanese women putting their feet in "gutta water" to let the grass carp or patwa nibble nibble at their toes. Not me I rather go with raggedy toes for a week until I get together my little pittance to go and get a proper pedicure. But them Asians know how to do nails though, is a pity those strains of asians coming to GT are only restaurateurs and not Hair/Salon specialists.

Look Alikes

Queen Latifah's girlfriend Jeanette Jenkins looks a lot like this young lady who was spotted at the Lollipop party at Blue Iguana a few weeks back. Don't see the resemblance, then click here for another picture to confirm or here.

Guess Who ...

A popular sports person apparently had a bit too much to drink for their own good last friday night, at the Black and White affair. It was evident to many, since the person staggered away obviously intoxicated, I hope the person didn't drive themselves home, because we all should take heed, a lot of accidents are occurring on the bank these days. The person's alleged ex was also on site, behaving like someone in HEAT. People claim the so called sports person has been known to have a drinking problem in the past. That should explain why, the person is so accident prone during matches, with all the liqueur they consume it is easy to get superficial injuries on a regular.

Inefx...... strange website

Inefx claims they are " focused on the development of Young Guyanese, Musicians, DJs, Artists, Promoters, Models and Culture. The site is dedicated to giving these individuals and Country the type of exposure they need to succeed in their respective industries." Interesting so in short, they promote all Guyanese " Socialites" and wanna be "Stars."see here. I not hating, I am impressed with their initiative, however I am a true believer, if you are going to claim something please, do deliver. I also see that the photo of the week is also the photo of " The last 2 months" see here.

Music Awards ( The GMA's) hahahha

I've heard about this, "Guyana Music Awards," since June, but wasn't too moved by the buzz. The event is charted for November 30 and Guyanese are expected to dress up in their finest and funniest "Dan Dans", be photographed while pretending to be big shots, before they enter the so called "biggest awards gala" GT has ever seen. Sounds like fun !!! Come on, how many artiste do we really have, prepare yourself for a really short show. Need I remind y'all the last time we tried to recreate a show it was a total BUST, "Guyana's Next top Model", Ghetto Ass Show was a disaster in the making. The show ended up with one person unconscious, one man behaving like a total idiot and the DIVA soaked in water, it was a utter embarrassment.
This so called Music Awards of Guyana will reward artistic excellence in the music industry. The show according to promoters, is geared towards their "strategic efforts to promote Guyana, through its rich and diverse arts and cultures." Doesn't make sense to me, to promote Guyanese Culture and Arts to Guyanese people, we already know all there is to know. And we all know that ain't nobody flying into Guyana just to see Timeka and Celeste. Maybe they should have done a Caribbean/Guyana Music Award Show to coincide with Carifesta, that would have been a bit more create and exciting........and would have promoted Guyana regionally, at the same time. I JUST SAYING.

Dregding channels.

I see Guyana has acquired a new $40 million dollar Pontoon, to accommodate dredging equipment. Very interesting, the last time I witnessed dredging of the channels, it was done with such inexperience. When disposing of the debris, they didn't take into consideration tides and where they dumped the waste, but it is apparent that it found it's way back inland, in the middle of the Demerara river, in West Watooka. Now this is just another reason why it is dangerous to commute via boat on these rivers. Have a look at these children, walking on water in the Demerara river, I thought I wasn't seeing correct. Now we shouldn't wonder what causes all those mysterious boating accidents anymore..... all those damn ass sand banks that are popping up across the country.

What the **** !!!

Looks like Timeka struggling to hold in, a serious dose of shittings. I couldn't make it to The Court Yard for the promotion but I heard she didn't sound all that bad this time around. Kudos to her. I guess she is actually putting her mouth (vocal chords) to better use these days.......... y'all know what I talking about, don't play stupid.

Oh Lawd... Migrating Birds

Just when I thought I heard it all, an idiot does this, "A passenger on a flight from Guyana was charged recently with smuggling 13 finches (Twa Twa ) into the United States to use in bird-singing contests. the birds were found in the luggage of Mr. McClean at JKF, hidden inside curlers." What an idiot, I wonder what his defense will be, "He was trying to help the birds on their migratory trip." (giggles)I damn and well know, that dem birds not in any hurry to migrate to the US. This just confirms the lengths Guyanese would go to, to get things into the Almighty USA. (lol) With all these smuggling incidences they might start to ban curlers now, we better watch out. All that Achar and Pepper sauce might be the next to go, we aint learn , it is not good to get dem White Folk vex.

Sponge Bob, Winchester and Ce'cile ... weird combo

According to Gt Vibes, "From 2pm to 5pm kids can get to see Spongebob Square pants and Dora the Explorer perform every hour! These characters comes with the compliments of Tons of Fun Entertainment Company. They will also have a fun station set up with standees of WWE characters such as Rey Mysterio, John Cena and others which kids can take pictures with. In between performances the crowd will be entertained by popular sound systems, Emcees Mr Chow Pow, Malcolm Ferreira, Shurwayne Winchester, Serani, Ce'cile and others! These intermittent performances will only be short interactions and not the actual performance that the artists will be doing in the evening segment. "I am a bit confused why are they mixing Sponge Bob with Shurwayne and Ce'cile dem? I keep telling these people you shouldn't mix little kiddies show with big people wine session. We all know there will be a few drunken men and women acting a damn fool in the place, regardless if you keep the session in the afternoon. I sure not gonna take my pickney to that show, so some stranger gonna try touch up my child. As soon as those perverts see, Sponge bob will be there, they have an excuse to go to the show even if they don't have any children to take to the show, that place will be swarming with perverted pedophiles.

WILD FIRE FEST ( Black & White Affair)

Artists are arriving today, 25th July, Pre-show events are scheduled to start up tonight. The Artists will be live on NCN ( Ch 11) at 9 pm and aired via 98.1 Hot FM. A Black and White party which will be held at Palm Court (The Courtyard), which has been deemed invitational only but we all know that is crap. Just wear something Black and White and pay the entrance fee and they will let you in fah sure. All the popular Hoochies, Gold diggers, Opportunists, Prostitutes and Cheap Ass Whores will be on site, no doubt about that. So don't miss out on the action.

Drug Mule ......Phenomenon

Desperate times, calls for desperate measures. Guyana is known for the "Mule/Donkey Farm Industry." This is nothing new, I am not surprised that another young woman got brainwashed into taking drugs, out of the country. I am almost certain, the money Miss Ameriah Mitchell was hoping to make on one trip alone, was double what she earns in a year as a " Cosmetologist ." There are Mules all around us, I am not kidding. When a loaf of bread and a bag of tennis roll coming up to $400, that is excluding the cheese (you know ya' need cheese with tennis roll), people start to get desperate. This case is just another person, seeing an opportunity- a fast way to make an Ugly Penny. Her attorney is the famous Mark Waldron, not surprised he took the case either, I am beginning to believe that all the guilty people are offered a short list of attorneys they are allowed to pick, I just Keeping it Real. Remember the Law Student at UG who went to the next level and had the Drugs strapped to her body. Let me educate y'all " She got off with out any jail time and to add insult to injury, remember the drugs were strapped to her body, "Now if she can get off, then I damn sure, Miss Ameriah can get off.

In with the "Geezers, " Out with the " Young boys"

There is a new phenomenon in Guyana where young girls in their 20’s are only looking to date " geezers" who are rich and influential in our society. It seems like these young girls are starting to show this opportunist tendency from the time they complete high school at age 16 or 17. However I am not going to judge these girls, since I've noticed they are able to acquire big old cars, house, diamonds and pearls without having to work a normal 9 to 5, like some of us. The smart ones who use their brains and milk the old geezer for all he's got, actually end up with Masters and high flying jobs. Pimp Pimp Girls!!!

" Grow More" was introduced by Robert !!!!

The person who designed this cover for the Grow More campaign, clearly had fun with it. I had a hard time distinguishing, who was who on the cover. In response to an article written on Living Guyana, which referenced an article in The Guyana Chronicle by Shirley Thomas: "The Grow More Food Campaign was introduced about four months ago by the Minister of Agriculture in response to the challenges that were arising as a result of rising food prices." Living Guyana made mention that the Minister seems to want to take all the credit for this initiative.Well from what I heard and saw, at the Grow More Food Festival, if i was the President I wouldn't mind blaming the catastrophe on the Minister, either. If Robert wants to take credit let him go right ahead, the entire initiative is a waste of time. They are blind sighted giving farmers small packets of seeds, expecting it to change the entire food shortage problem. How naive of them to assume this. When the little number of seeds finish then what, no long term solutions are being introduced, what a waste of time. Government should look into controlling / regulating market pricing and try compensating farmers, so as to avoid price hikes. This would be a better way to combat the rising prices. Not just to share out 10 seeds and expect it will make a difference. What idiots !!!!! Schhhh let Robert take the credit, it doesn't make him look any smarter in my eyes.

Look alikes ( Stan Gouevia's twin )

Stan Gouevia looks like RuPaul in a weird kind of a way. RuPaul is an American drag performer, dance music singer, actor and songwriter who gained fame in the 1990s; appearing in a wide variety of television programs, films, and musical albums. Stan may be a darker chocolate version but I can see the resemblance. So if Stan decides to go under cover, y'all know what to look for. Because rumor around town speculates, Stan into Man.... we keeping it real.

Chinese Invasion

Guyanese continually complain about the number of people leaving these shores in search of a better life, venturing off to places like Canada, and the US. However for some people, Guyana is considered "paradise". Just like the Brazilian invasion on Robb and Regent Street. I seeing one set of Chinese popping up all over the place. Alot of them look, like they just came off the boat and I am not talking about one of those 39 Immigrant boats in the eighteen hundreds. I heard that there was a fatal boat accident involving illegal Chinese but it never made headlines. Some big time pays offs had to be made in that "hush hush cover up", cause y'all know Guyanese love a good gossip. We should all be careful though, with the over population in China, they looking for vulnerable lands to go and inhabit. So with all the "Ajinomoto " they serving us guyanese in their "dutty fried rice" I don't think it is coincidence. Chinese smart as hell, they getting rid of us locals to make room for their chini counterparts, because we all know they don't eat the same food they serve us. That should be a sign something ain't right with the food, serving locals, banned substances should be a cause for ALARM. According to Mr Pichai, former head of the chemistry department of Chulalongkorn University, " Apart from causing allergies, excess consumption of MSG could lead to risks for people suffering from kidney, high blood pressure or heart problems, over- indulgence in MSG could also affect pregnant women and lead to brain clots in children.

Sweet Woman craze......

Sweet woman craze in Guyana has gone to another level. Politicians, Pastors, authors and so called MBA acclaimed entrepreneurs are all getting in on the action. I had a sighting last weekend at Palm Court, a "talk man" in society had his sweet woman by his side. "The Hope for our Nation " is dwindling, traditionally the sweet woman was kept under lock and key and the wife made public appearances. More so roles have changed and the sweet woman is now becoming the show piece. Politicians best take heed these woman are just out to ride the "wave".

Poor "Gordon Big Batty Mosley"

El Presi strikes again, by impeding the "Freedom of Speech Act" to cater to his own ego. Our well known " Gordon Big Batty Mosley "was recently banned from the Office of the President and State House because he allegedly made "disparaging and disrespectful" remarks against the Head of State and Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces. I thought that one of the elements of a democratic society is freedom of speech and freedom of press, I don't know what getting into our Presi. As I predicted before he probably PMSing or experiencing a Mid life Crisis. What ever it may be, it is hampering with his judgment. His behaviour reminds me of little children on a play ground, where the little spoiled child runs to mommy every time another child says or does something that he doesn't like.
