Lil Wayne @ Sumfest

Oh Lawd, just because the little Gansta midget was nominated for a Grammy, the Jamaicans decided to invite his ass to Sumfest 2008 which begins on Friday July 18.

Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, good thing he found a more gangsta name because no one would take him seriously with that " white god given name." His career was well boosted with his affiliation to Cash Money Records, so in 1999 Lil Wayne released his first solo album Tha Block is hot, which debuted at number three on the Billboard charts. Then he went on to collaborate with the Big Tymers to produce the international hit “Bling Bling”.

Have to admit i loved that Jam " Every time I come around they see Bling Bling" lol . But i never wasted my three cents to buy any of his albums though.

Tha Carter III, which was released in 2008 brought him great acclaim the album's first single “Lollipop” became his first number one hit on the “Billboard charts” and broke records as it sold over a million copies in its first week alone, an accomplishment that hasn’t been made by any artist, let alone a rap artist, since 2005.

Now that I think about it, I hope that being an ex-convict or being arrested on drug and possession of paraphernalia, are not the main criteria for performing at Sumfest. Because if my memory serves me correctly both Lil wayne and T- Pain were arrested on similar charges not too long ago.
